Insomnia

The world around me fell silent, the woofing dog decided to rest, the crickets slowly faded to silence. 

The vehicles were shut down, except for a few, 

for others already had on themselves, dew.

No man shouting, no one celebrating, no one talking.

Everything went to rest, and I was here, laying on my bed,

waiting for sleep to take me over, but knock knock, 

my mind made me think over...

The clocks ticked, my legs kicked, my mind went deep, but of all the things I need, is a good sleep...

Congrats, said a voice, you've made it till the dawn,

now all your remaining hopes are gone 

My mind stressed, my body shivered, my throat dried. Still I was laying here, with my eyes closed, but my mind open... 

The sounds of the trains accompanied, slowly them too, fading away, while I am sitting here, with my burning and dripping eyes, words screaming inside, 

writing this, right after my eyes cried

There Was A Time...

There was a time,  When homes were not limited to their boundaries,  and rivers were treated like Goddesses, be it Narmada, or Godavari.  When children were considered truthful & pure,  and mother's love was the ultimate cure. When there was greenery more than roads, and nature was treated as abode. When at night the world used to rest, and the young adults weren't depressed. When women used to walk around careless, and nothing was ever such a mess. When people respected each other, and there was no bias on caste or colour. When people followed their passion, and following traditions was not fashion. When art was considered sacred, and there was never so much hatred. When there were more humans than people, and summers were filled with the singing beetles. There was a time, When everything was peaceful,  Yes it once existed, now in our memories, we cherish. The Waters from Paradise

The rain fell from the heavens, appearing magically,  showing off its power with thunder; so gentle, yet so devastating,  closing the pool of sunlight, opening the oceans of thinking. Still falling, cleansing the trees, tripping from the leaves;  The gushing winds, making it feel like the stars falling, the lightning, as if the promised land is calling,  the water on the humanly land, merely crawling, memories from the past, my mind recalling.   The darkness, lighting up my mind, making it feel like heaven's sign; The droplets refreshing my soul,  wanting it to pour, for some time more, endless magic happening,  but in the end, the sky was blue again,  for it was just the rain falling... ~ Guni  (image source - Google Images)
